What is FuranFlexTM  technology?

33.jpgIt is a chimney lining technology, where, in contrast to the stainless-steel tube, it is not necessary to open the next wall and it can be easily installed in any lines of chimneys. It is completely gas-tight and corrosion resistant. The procedure is a revolutionary new chimney lining technology is that the extra material (a special thermosetting resin) is drawn in the form of the chimney. After that it is inflated with hot air and heated to strike. The technology makes it possible to completely pick up the lining of the chimney form, however, it is laid on in a very short time.

Technical parameters

The FuranFlex TM chimneys are lined with high technology, efficiency and the technical parameters are besed on many years of experience, research and surveys conducted by independent research laboratories. The chimney linings are completely air-proof and are capable of withstanding the most extreme weather conditions as well. FuranFlex TM chimneys, according to the measures of Dansk Toxicology Center (Denmark) and the Institut für Ökologische Chemie (Germany) will not emit any dangerous carcinogenic substances between 100-600 C. They are able to withstand even as high temperature as1000 Co for a short period of time.
Here follows a detailed technical analysis to be read about the
FuranFlexTM chimney lining.

Technical problems

The chimney smoke going up is constantly cooling, in traditionally bricked chimneys approx. 15-16 ° C/metre. Any material is burned in the chimney, the smoke contains significant amounts of water vapour. Approximately at 50 - 70 ° C the intensive precipitation of water will start. The resulting liquid is acidic. The walls of the chimneys without lining are damaged by the moisture condensing from the flue gas.
In order to avoid danger all gas-fired chimneys must be equipped with acid-proof lining. The most commonly used technology in when corrosion resistant pipes are placed into the existing chimney. In this case, however, the following insolvable problems are facing us:

The rigid, thin (0.6 mm) acid-proof pipe is resistant to corrosion effects (10-year warranty is given for that), but it is impossible to place it subsequently in a longitudinal, not straight, chimney without disassembling the walls at the offsettings.

A flexible, thin (0.3 mm) goose neck can be placed into the chimney which contains offsettings, but this tube doesn’t have sufficient indicators of the corrosion-resistance.
The loaded lining pipe will result in a smaller diameter than the original was in all cases. This results in reduction in diameter, thus in less drafts.
Sometimes it happens that in case of lining a rectangular (eg 200x300 mm) chimney we want to insert a rigid tube with the same 275 mm diameter. This is impossible without boring the chimney at this diameter. The solution is the FuranFlex technology and the lining material.

Benefits

A FuranFlexTM technology has several advantages over conventional techniques. Among these the most important factor is the high security, but beyond this, there are a large number of advantages, which makes it clear that this lining technique means the future. Here is a non-exhaustive list of some of those benefits.

Turbo-FuranFlex

The pulling of the FuranFlex-Turbo ® and Eco-liners into the chimney and curing them equal with the FuranFlex ® technology in every aspect.

For the FuranFlex ® installation the following elements are required:
Sliding ring: It is put on the FuranFlex-turbo blank pipe ® at the height of the coping stone chimney cover. This element is to take up the friction resulting from thermal expansion and dislocation. - Optional piece
Feeder piece: This piece provides the air-proof connection between the smoke tubing of the boiler and FuranFlex ® turbo liner. - Compulsory piece
Extension piece: It is used for extension of  the chimney. - optional piece
Clutch piece: This piece provides the connection to the chimney elements of the boiler and the air-proof jointing piece. - Compulsory piece
Centring disc: The centring disc above the cleaning piece supports the FuranFlex-turbo liner® and ensures the proper location of the chimney liner inside the chimney. - Optional piece
Cleaning piece: This piece allows the inspection and cleaning of the liner. - Compulsory piece
Cover: It is an air-proof closing lid used for closed combustion chamber boiler application. - Optional piece
Cup: It is a component due to the FuranFlex-turbo technology ®, which air-proofly closes the bottom of the liner. – It is part of the cleaning piece.
Trap: It is to drain the condensate. Due to its build-up it may be used to closed combustion chamber boilers. The U-tube condensate pipe system ensures pressure tightness. – It is part of the cleaning piece.

When installing FuranFlex ® Turbo the most important is to maintain the tightness of the liner.

Taking it into consideration the followings should be observed:
The FuranFlex-Turbo ® must be blanked with an annular bit at the attachment.
After the blanking the attachment points of the FuranFlex-Turbo ® and the stainless steel feeder must be lubricated with silicone rubber.
When amplifying the cleaning / condensate piece silicone rubber is recommended.
® FuranFlex-turbo pipe storage
The turbo-FuranFlex ® tubes should be stored between +4 ° C and +20 ° C.
It must be ensured that the FuranFlex ® Turbo tubes be packaged with foil for the whole period of storage.
•    Use 4-12 ° C: 4 months
•    Use by 12-16 ° C: 2 months
•    Use by 16-20 ° C: 1 month
•    Use by 20-28 ° C: 2 weeks

The FuranFlex ®-turbo pipes must be warmed to room temperature (20 ° C) before installation, that is collaring them to the appropriate length. We advise you to put the pipes to room temperature place the day before usage.
The FuranFlex ® turbo tubes must be heated up to at least 15 ° C before drawing in. The FuranFlex ®-turbo pipes should not be drawn on the ground and should be kept away from sharp objects.
The batch number of the FuranFlex ®-turbo pipe must be recorded before using it.

Security requirements
When applying FuranFlex Multikamin ® tecnology steam of 100-110 ° C is evolving
in the steam generator which heats the components of the FuranFlex technology ®.

When forming the location of joint pieces high-production tools (drill, angle grinder, etc.)
are used.

To prevent accidents goggles, gloves and other appropriate protective clothing must be worn near the steam generators and the adapter head during the entire construction.
